The Fox Hill Tower, located at the summit of Fox Hill, is a memorial to all Vernon/Rockville Veterans. The Memorial Tower was constructed by the WPA using local granite from a quarry in Tolland over the course of two years, and was dedicated on August 5, 1939. The memorial site originally include a WWI tank, which was later removed and melted down to aid in the war efforts during WWII.
The tower is open to the general public on Saturday and Sunday from May 27 to November 12, 1:00-4:00 pm.
The Fox Hill Tower can be reserved for special occasions. Permits can be issued for exclusive use of the Tower grounds, or use of the grounds with access to the interior of the Tower. Reservations must be booked outside of normal public viewing hours.
Tower Grounds only: $30/3 hour block of time, $15 for each additional hour
