No school?  No problem!

Vacation Camp days are filled with fun activities including outdoor time, sports, group games, arts & crafts, movies, and much more!  Please see below for more details on activities offered during specific days.
 
Grades:  K-5
Location:  Center 375 (375 Hartford Turnpike, lower level)
Time: Drop off as early as 7:00 pm, Pick up as late as 6:00 pm
Fees: $40/day for Vernon residents, $50/day for non-residents
 
Please send your child with a morning and afternoon snack, lunch, drink, and appropriate outdoor play clothes.
If your child has already attended REK, Morning Club, or Vacation Camp in the 2017-2018 school year we will use the same registration form, unless a new form is submitted to us.

April Vacation Camp
  • Monday 4/9- Board Games Galore: Today is the perfect opportunity to discover a new board game or play an old favorite. Challenge your friends by signing up for the Checkers Tournament, and then create a board game of your own to take home and play with your family.
  • Tuesday 4/10: Field Trip! We will be visiting Parkade Cinemas in Manchester to view the movie "Sherlock Gnome" (Rated PG, 126 minutes). The fee for the field trip is an additional $12 and includes ticket, popcorn, and drink. The bus will leave 375 at 11:30 am and return at approximately 1:45pm. The field trip fee must be paid via cash to the Parks & Rec Office or upon drop-off at Vacation Camp.
  • Wednesday 4/11- Safety Day: We will be joined today by Vernon Police, Fire, and EMS personnel. See an emergency vehicle, ask questions, and learn about safety planning to do at home with your family.
  • Thursday 4/12- Pet Pals: We will be learning about responsible pet ownership with a variety of activities including a presentation on dog safety from the CT Humane Society (no live animals will be used during this presentation). Watch for a visit from Vernon K-9 team Thor & Officer Sembersky during the day as well! We will also be collecting donations of supplies or money for the CT Human Society at drop-off or pick-up.   • Friday 4/13: Field Trip to UConn! We will be getting ice cream at the Dairy Bar and touring the animal barns. The fee for the field trip is an additional $4.00 and includes a small ice cream from the Dairy Bar. The bus will leave 375 at 11:45am and return at approximately 2:00pm. The field trip fee must be paid via cash to the Parks & Rec office or upon drop off at Vacation Camp.
